Architecture provides us with actual data about the way of life, the habits, the well being, the know-how and the culture in general, of the past generations.

In Karystia one can observe a technique of building houses on rocky slopes, relevant to the Cycladic tradition but in a unique manner.

A magnificent such example is the abandoned settlement Galana.

EuKarystia Cooperative conducted several visits and examinations of the abandoned settlement Galana, recorded and listed its obvious data. EuKarystia also worked to develop awareness on the importance of the location, inviting visitors, and filing a report to the Administration of Modern Monuments.

We seek collaborations to ensure the perseverance of this heritage for the next generations.
